World is becoming so fast now, boisterous cities with all the colors of rainbow, I cannot find myself. If you link my peaceful little stone house, come have a .... cup of water. |
This pascal program language will explain that complex. Read it carefully. It all seems so insidious.
Don't wait too long, this might be over before you know it.
My buddy Jason Meridith tagged me in the blog meme du jour asking, "how did you get started in software development?" How old were you when you started programming? At the age of ten or so I frittered around with Basic on the Commodore 64 and Vic-20 back in the day, but I wouldn't classify that as anything too serious. I was a big fan of text-based adventures and they were pretty easy to make. The real art/challenge/fun was always in the story and design of the puzzles. Thankfully, I missed ..keep reading.
It describes, in meticulous detail:
This week's mod interview is with William C Anderson, aka WillieSea (Willie C…WillieSea…get it?). Willie works as a Programmer/Analyst Lead for a credit card processing company in Boise, Idaho. Besides Idaho, he's lived in Michigan, South Carolina, Arizona, Washington, and Illinois. On with the interview… You've been programming since 1982. What kind of stuff were you working on back then? I taught myself how to program BASIC on a TI 99/4a in high school. I created a lot of ..[more].
While more information waited to be found, that is what I found:
The two bested ways of learning how to program are writing code and reading (good) code. I read a lot of code in my younger days, and I think it helped me. Programming courses give students plenty of practice in writing code. I wonder how many give students an opportunity to read good code. There should be a course in which all the students read and discuss a large program, like a literature class. One problem with that idea is a lack of good code to read. Knuth's TeX and Metafont books are ..read all.
Those who keep up to date with plenty of information know for sure that what I need.
If I really know my stuff, I am worth my weight in gold.
