Hi Helen. It doesn t look too bad. Try giving your div.frontpageleftcolumn a height value. I ve found that IE doesn t care about height and gives it automatically but FF wants it all written down. Your biggest problem is that your page doesn t validate even though you have a W3C logo. The reason for this is that you have the Doc declaration repeated through your code along with multiple instance of the primary tags; html, body etc. download php

Hi If a field is not filled in can you specify which field isn t filled in instead of saying one or more fields are required. php forum

Thanks Natasha June 10th, 2007 02:03 AM flash php

As far as I know, you can t. What I do is add a line of text either in the form or above/below stating Fields in bold are required. That way, it should be obvious to the user filling in the fields which ones the form is referring to. August 23rd, 2007 11:42 AM ajax php

It is my experience that people filling in forms do not bother to read at all. It would be much better if a new features to this program were added that allowed for individual errors messages for each required field. dream foundation php weaver

Can t argue with that. Of course, we can t put our forms on hold hoping that ll appear in the future So at this time, other than adding to the Suggestions for Software section, we can discuss workarounds, like adding asterisks next to fields. People will have to learn to read when the red X pops up. tongue php proxy

That sounds good, but the features you mentioned addresses only 1 of the suggestions I have. It seems to me that there are some more important issues. Like error message for each required field , email validation , the autoreply issue , etc. 4th development edition mysql

I do know there ll be email validation, as far as making sure it s in the correct format (something@something.com, asfdasdf will not go through). Who knows, it might fix some others on your list. I m not sure which one is the autoreply issue, but I know some of the updates involve what gets sent out (who/how/etc). I guess we shall see. wink php web

Website Align

If you do not want your website to align to the left side of the page, or to the top, you can always photo edit your background image so that it will offset exactly the way you want in VSD. Using Photoshop I took a background page and layered it over a larger goal background that permits this test website to be offset in the exact proportions that I want. It is easier to show you than explain. Please follow this link to see what I mean. development mysql php web

Using Snippets in VSD.

As VSD does not allow you to save code as snippet for reuse, nor does notepad, you can use HTML Editor, Free one, to write and save codes, then copy and paste into VSD. Very handy if you re using HTML in VSD. MichaelA Bring on VSD5 download php

VSD+FREE HTML EDITOR

If you want to do more with VSD then what VSD has to offer, using the free HTML editor, create what you want, copy the code it create, and paste it into VSD s HTML BOX.You can then move it around to where you want it to be. No more need to write HTML yourself. And the code is always correct. developer php

Creating cross-browser stable text

This tip is for Visual Site Designer (VSD). I figured out a way to lock in text so that it doesn t change from browser to browser, or allow the average viewer of your website to change the size of your website text on the fly...A problem I have been having personally when viewing my pages not only in Internet Explorer and Firefox, but in Apple Safari as well. flash php

METHOD:

- Open up the OBJECT inspector - Select your text using the pointer tool (which selects the text as an object) - Click on Allow advanced text - Toggle to the EFFECTS inspector - Turn on the DROP SHADOW effect - Set the transparency of the drop shadow to 100% (so that it can t be seen) - DONE UPSIDE: - Use any text size or font you want to. It will all display exactly the way you created it in any browser. This works because the text is rendered as an image by VSD after saving and/or uploading your site. ajax php

- Your text is still text while editing the page in VSD. Make whatever changes and edits you want to at any time. DOWNSIDE: The text is actually rendered into an image by VSD when it saves your page and uploads it. Text cannot be selected or copied in the browser (or indexed). (As discovered by Michelle) Embedded text links are lost using this method. I think I have a reasonable method for adding text links that I have posted further down. dream foundation php weaver

I hope some of this helps until the fine crew at Coffecup do something to make this problem a non issue... Dave Stevens Fairly recent Coffeecup software user (I love this software). Last edited by kadoogan@gmail.com (November 11th, 2006 07:56 AM) November 11th, 2006 05:53 AM php proxy

During the archaic beginnings of creating a web site I had found a very simplistic software program that not only took the cumbersome and most of the time worrisome tribulation of not knowing how to program in HTML and yet to create a web site of my dreams into true reality. The software program was simple enough and true to its word was a what you see is what you get web page and allowed you to create a fast loading site with more than one page for use with all web viewers. This was awesome but soon I was growing up and maturing little by little and looking at other web sites and desiring to put these little snippets of code unto my web pages but alas a weak spot in the Software, while using it you could not add any of your own code because it would simply overwrite it the next time you made a change. So now, frantically looking for something that would allow me to work with the unknown programming language and yet be productive and not mess up all the work entered already. I looked at so many editors promising this or that and yet either you could not see the changes immediately off-line or you simply had to know this language. There was no time to learn this language as like a School class for these desires were deep within wanting to awaken at any moment and that is when a friend of mine told me about this software called CoffeeCup HTML editor. This editor not only allows you to instantly see the changes but helps you to add code for trial and error with SYNTAX high-lighters and indents to simplify reading all those words embedded. Simply put, it made sense out of a bunch of this foreign language. Make a change, see the change whether it worked or not immediately--wow not only soon did I have the ability to make these additions to the web site but I was truly learning this archaic language they call HTML and JAVA SCRIPT and XHTML. Soon, a wonderful site was emerging and true flexibility and what you see is what you get. nuke php theme

Once you outgrow your simple little Web Page Programmer, let me suggest for you to use CoffeeCup s HTML Editor--Besides, once you have one of their software programs, your not only purchasing a good sound product but you have also bought into a wonderful community and awesome people whom offer help at your simple request! Come and Join in with us and let CoffeeCup take the moment to prove to you to that their tools can and will help you produce a successful Web Site. php security

Review of CoffeeCup Direct FTP Written by: Reverend William Middleton - Posted: May 11, 2006 [ Ask Reverend William Middleton a question about CoffeeCup Direct FTP ]

During the interim of changing from a single program to programming my web site I found myself into a dilemma. The program I had to change from because of non flexibility uploaded all the changes and files I needed to and where for me and now How was I going to get the changes online I was using this editor from CoffeeCup which really showed some class and was true to its words in its functionality so I looked on their site and seen Wow, there was a program that I could upload all my files that I changed, manipulate the files, create directories on my web site and The real neat thing--Make changes without actually down-loading and uploading the HTML Files A FTP Program with a built in Editor. How amazing and time saving idea. From then on and now I still use this marvel of FTP programs. editor php

The interface is simple and not so robust to make even the newest people like myself scared to use. Keeping with the traditional windows look and feel and the short cuts also, you can easily highlight a file or files and drag them over to the directory and presto--during this beginning time for me everything happened magically. And most of all, Worked! hosting mysql php web

As for now, After a year later and creating a world respected web site, I have not out grown its function and continues to be a tool to help in all the changes and most of all--Time. Time is a key because while programming and working on your site and testing, time is a very important element and cannot be replaced. 4th development edition mysql
